It depends on your situation. The EPA has said routine duct cleaning has never been proven to prevent health problems, and doesn’t recommend it on a fixed schedule for every home — so if someone tells you to clean your ducts every year no matter what, be skeptical.

Where it is worth it: visible mold in the ductwork, a pest or rodent infestation, heavy dust or debris blowing into rooms, or leftover construction dust after a renovation. If none of those apply, a good filter and routine HVAC maintenance may be enough.

The honest first step is an inspection, not a sale — a NADCA-certified technician can tell you whether your ducts actually need cleaning before you pay for one. That’s the standard LServices uses: we’ll tell you if you don’t need it.
